Description:
The unit specializes in caring for adults and geriatric patients with cardiovascular conditions.
We take care of patients with devices such as left ventricular assist devices, balloon pumps, and swan catheters.
Our unit includes 10 beds, with a typical patient ratio of 1:1-2.
Nurses generally care for 2 patients each, with a dedicated charge nurse available.
We conduct multidisciplinary rounds with the intensivist Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities include monitoring patients closely post-procedure and administering medications.
Effective communication between nurses, physicians, and the care team is crucial for patient outcomes.
The patient population includes those recovering from aortic aneurysm repairs and those requiring continuous renal replacement therapy.
Nurses will also be responsible for managing various invasive lines and administering sedation for intubated patients.
Candidates should be familiar with protocols for caring for complex cardiovascular patients.
Flexibility to float within the facility as needed is required.
Working on major holidays may be expected.
Compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary for timely start.
