Description:
Candidates must have more than two years of experience in cardiovascular intensive care.
Travel duos must have their own vehicles and will not share the same schedule.
Clinicians must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before signing a contract.
A score of 80% or higher is required to pass; failure to meet this requirement will result in disqualification for six months.
Candidates must comply with the radius rule of 50 miles and cannot have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN within the past year at any associated facility.
The unit has a total of 12 beds.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity.
Nurses are required to titrate drips.
Nurse aids are not present on the unit.
An intensivist is available on-site.
Respiratory therapy is available in the ICU 24/7.
The unit utilizes in-room monitoring only.
Registered Nurses are responsible for reading rhythm strips.
Weekend shifts are required, with two weekend shifts needed per pay period, subject to unit needs.
Holiday shifts may also be required.
There is a call or standby requirement per contract, with a maximum of three occurrences every 12 weeks.
Nurses may be required to float to other units as needed based on departmental skill requirements.
Unit-specific orientation is provided.
Experience with Impella and Cerner is desired.
