Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in CVICU with open heart experience License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years CVICU experience - Open heart experience - Epic charting system experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the CVICU specialty. The contract duration is 13 weeks. The shift is a night shift consisting of 12 hours. A minimum of 2 years of experience in CVICU is required. Candidates must have experience with open heart procedures. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory. Experience with the Epic charting system is essential. The nurse will float within their scope of care and practice. Every other weekend coverage is necessary, with 4 weekend shifts included in the contract. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:2. Additional qualifications include skills in arterial line management, chest tube insertion and removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and ventilator management. The role involves caring for patients post-cardiac surgery and monitoring various cardiac procedures and complications. Support services are available, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services. Preferred experience includes working in community hospitals and with a daily census of 10-12 patients. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment. A supervisory reference is required.
