Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Client Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Cardiothoracic surgical ICU experience, Bachelor of Science in Nursing Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their significant others. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs while applying critical thinking skills in patient care management. Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Prioritizes all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care while delegating to others as appropriate. Educates patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease while anticipating needs and readiness to learn.
