Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Must have DC license in hand prior to the start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Proof of pending status at the time of submission - Ability to pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms - Travel experience preferred - Every other weekend availability required - Holidays as needed - Float to ICU and IMC required Description: The position is for a registered nurse in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. The shift consists of three 12-hour rotations for day and night. Candidates must provide proof of pending license status during the submission process. Candidates must hold a DC nursing license before the start date. Experience in a travel capacity is preferred. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients who have undergone cardiac surgeries. Every other weekend shift is required along with holiday coverage as needed. The nurse will float to ICU and IMC as required by staffing needs. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential for this role. The candidate must have expertise in arterial line management, care for ventilated patients, and interpretation of arterial blood gases. Other responsibilities may include medication administration and assisting with various procedures within the unit. Nurses will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care. The unit's daily census ranges from 25 to 32 patients, with a maximum of 32 beds available. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial attributes for success in this position. The ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals is essential.
