Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required.
Telemetry test passed prior to starting.
Description:
Day and night shifts available.
12 hour shifts from 0700 to 1930 or 1900 to 0730.
Every other weekend and some holidays required.
No call responsibilities.
CVICU experience is essential.
Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred.
Nurses typically care for 1 to 2 patients.
In low acuity situations, up to 3 general care patients may be assigned.
Care is for patients requiring specialized cardiac and thoracic surgery care.
Duties include monitoring and caring for patients recovering from surgeries and medical interventions.
The unit has a dynamic atmosphere with frequent planned and emergent procedures.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams.
Lethal rhythm interpretation skills are essential for this position.
Strong emphasis on patient and family-centered care.
Nursing staff is supported by Care Team Leaders and Rapid Response Nurses.
Ability to navigate complex patient care situations is necessary.
Support staff includes nursing assistants and a unit clerk.
Staff assignments may change depending on patient admissions and discharges.
Focus on maintaining a technologically adept and empathetic approach to patient care.
Skills needed include management of various medical devices and patient monitoring techniques.
Commitment to safety and infection prevention practices is required.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in critical care practices and emergency response situations.
Flexibility to float to different areas as needed is expected.
