Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in Cardiovascular ICU. License: Current RN License Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. - ACLS (American Heart Association). Must-Have: Experience with impella, balloon pump, and heart recovery procedures. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medications as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Candidates must have experience with impella, balloon pump, and heart recovery. Proficiency in Impella, IABP, CRRT, post open heart day 2 care, and ECCMO is required. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is essential. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services is necessary. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees is important. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors is needed. Some computer skills are required. Education: - Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. - Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program.
