Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,492 per week in Charleston, SC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: 36 months of RN experience At least one year of ICU experience Proficiency in managing patients on ventilators Comfort with caring for 1 to 3 ICU patients Description: Traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Expectations include working every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Unit has 28 beds with mixed ICU patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:3. Staffing includes registered nurses. Equipment includes i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations on wheels. Documentation is done using Meditech. Scheduling requirement is 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, including every other weekend. Travelers are the first to float, which may involve going to the emergency department or other units to care for holds. Bedside shift report is the method of patient handoff. Advanced skills required include CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy. Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of the ICU using inhalers and nebulizers. Procedures performed on the unit include post-operative care for CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, and Swan Ganz. Experience with neuro procedures such as EVDs and induced hypothermia is preferred. A BSN is preferred, along with advanced certifications. Willingness to train travelers interested in becoming skilled in Neuro or Cardiovascular ICU nursing is available.
