Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,543 per week in Madison, WI

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular ICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), rotating days and nights, every other weekend, some holidays, no call required

Highlights:

• 27-bed Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU specializing in cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplants, and complex cardiac medical patients
• Patient ratios of 1-2 ICU patients or up to 3 general care patients based on acuity
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Magnet-designated, top-ranked academic medical center and Level I Trauma facility
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Dynamic environment caring for CABG, valve repair/replacement, LVAD, heart/lung transplants, and more

Requirements:

• Current Wisconsin or Compact RN license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in CVICU or similar specialty within the last 3 years
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• CVICU experience required; Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable experience preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
• Proficiency with CRRT, IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO equipment required
• Must pass telemetry examination prior to start date (strict passing criteria apply)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must be available to float as needed
