Job Title: Staff Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Specialty Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Six months to three years of Nursing (RN) experience License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification, ACLS Certification Must-Have: Experience with intensive cardiac patients Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. Prevention of illness and injury is a key responsibility, as well as the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. They are responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This includes adherence to the Nurse Practice Act and applicable policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Manages a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies. Actively participates in nursing governance and supports improvement initiatives. Engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Participates in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop. Will perform other duties as assigned. Unit-specific requirements must be validated prior to consideration. Preferred Certifications: CCRN Relevant skills certifications as required by assigned unit.
