Job Title: CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required (2 years in CVICU preferred; will accept first-time travelers with strong skills/experience) License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIH; CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 1:1, up to 3 with stable, lower acuity patients - Charting System experience required (Epic preferred) - Capable of floating within the specialty and lower acuity units as needed Description: This role involves providing critical care to patients in a cardiac ICU setting. The Registered Nurse will care for adults and geriatric patients with various cardiac conditions. Common diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and arrhythmias. Nurses will manage advanced therapy workups, including LVAD and heart transplants. The position requires knowledge of mechanical support devices such as IABP and Impella. Special procedures may include bedside central line insertions, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion. The average daily census is approximately 10 patients with a capacity of 15 beds. Staff will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy and respiratory services. Weekend and holiday shifts are required as scheduled. Candidates must be comfortable with floating to other units as necessary. Additional requirements include handling various patient care tasks and emergency procedures.
