Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS & BLS required Must-Have: COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted Description: CVICU experience preferred. No local candidates within a 100-mile radius. Orientation includes 8 hours. Ratios are 1:2. Weekend requirements are as needed. First-timers accepted. Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs. May be floated to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED to care for admitted patients, and PACU to care for admitted patients. Post-operative care for Open Heart procedures is required. Experience with bedside tach/peg and bedside surgical procedures is needed. Skills in CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, SWANs, ART lines, CVCs, chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG tubes are important. Patient diagnoses include CABG, aortic aneurysm repair/dissection repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, endovascular repair, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis. Experience with equipment such as CRRT, Hemosphere, Bladerscanner, Cortrak, ultrasound, and various monitors is essential. Preferred experience in a Level I Trauma and Teaching facility. Experience in working with adults and geriatric populations is required. Daily census and room counts are relevant. Special procedures include managing CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, and more. Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams is expected. Comprehensive patient care knowledge is necessary. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC. Additional skills in managing ports, blood administration, monitoring arterial blood gases, and ventilator management are required. Knowledge of infection prevention and management of high-output drains is essential. Compliance with all health and safety protocols is mandatory.
