Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement. Holiday coverage required (1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs). Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period.

Highlights:

• Work in a 628-bed academic Level I Trauma Center affiliated with a major university
• Care for complex cardiac surgery patients including fresh post-op open heart cases, CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, heart transplants, and ventricular assist devices
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+ based on acuity and census
• EPIC charting system required; 4 hours of EPIC training plus additional non-billable module hours
• Float within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
• Part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system with Comprehensive Cardiac Center accreditation

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered if initial training was completed in a CVICU setting
• Demonstrated experience with fresh post-operative cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR procedures
• Hands-on experience with Impella, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), and CRRT using PrisMax
• Proficiency in cardiovascular skills including post-op open heart recovery, Swan-Ganz/FloTrac monitoring, temporary pacers, chest tubes, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with ventilator management, advanced IV therapy including vasoactive drips, procedural sedation, and blood product administration
• Knowledge of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, CVVHD/CRRT, stroke management, and hypothermia protocols
• EPIC charting experience required
• First-time travelers and local candidates accepted
