Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, plus 1-2 winter holiday coverage (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's). Float coverage within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units as needed.

Highlights:

• Work in a 628-bed academic Level I Trauma Center affiliated with a major university, featuring an advanced Heart, Vascular and Thoracic program with Comprehensive Cardiac Center accreditation
• Care for complex cardiovascular patients including fresh post-op cardiac surgery (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), heart transplants, ventricular assist devices, and ECMO
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+ based on acuity and census
• Epic charting system required; experience with advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax essential
• First-time travelers and local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and radiology

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience (SICU experience may be considered if initial training was completed in a CVICU setting)
• Demonstrated experience with fresh post-operative cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR procedures
• Hands-on experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax equipment
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in advanced cardiovascular care skills including arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheters, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, temporary pacers, ventilator management, chest tube care, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, acute stroke management, hypothermia protocols, and lumbar drains preferred
• Willingness to float within skillset to other ICUs and cardiac intermediate care units
