Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, 1:1 or 1:2+ patient ratios based on acuity and census. Holiday requirement: Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) as needed.

Highlights:

• Work in a 628-bed academic Level I Trauma Center affiliated with a major university, featuring a Comprehensive Cardiac Center accreditation
• Care for complex cardiovascular patients including fresh post-op cardiac surgery cases (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), heart transplants, ventricular assist devices, and ECMO
• Utilize advanced equipment and monitoring including Impella, IABP, CRRT with PrisMax, Swan Ganz, FloTrac/Vigileo, and temporary pacers
• Epic charting system experience required; comprehensive orientation and training provided
• Floating within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units based on census and staffing needs
• Part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system, offering first-time travelers and local candidates equal consideration

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases; SICU experience may be considered if initial CVICU training was completed
• Documented experience with CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR procedures
• Hands-on proficiency with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
• Epic EMR experience required
• Competency in ventilator management, chest tube care, cardiac drip titration, continuous sedation/paralytics, and multisystem organ dysfunction management
• Experience with cardiovascular monitoring including interpretation of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG, arterial lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Charge experience preferred
