Job Title: Cardio-thoracic ICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with vents, IV starts, PA lines - Travel experience Description: Position involves providing care in a cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit. The position requires a ratio of 1:1 patient care. Weekends are required unless the schedule states otherwise. Candidates must have experience with specific equipment such as ventilators and intra-aortic balloon pumps. Travel experience is necessary. Floating within the hospital is expected to other ICU units. Basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support certifications are required. The unit cares for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. Candidates should have experience with heart and lung transplant patients. Preferable experience includes management of dysrhythmias and related procedures. Medical records are managed using an electronic charting system. Candidates must be prepared to accommodate a flexible schedule based on unit needs.
