This assignment offers a competitive weekly blended rate of $3,200, based on three 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, providing the chance to work in one of the nation's top cardiac care environments.

Key Responsibilities of the CVICU RN:
  • Provide advanced critical care to post-open heart, cardiac surgery, and hemodynamically unstable patients
  • Manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, IABPs, CRRT, and other complex therapies
  • Perform continuous assessments and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Prepare patients for procedures and assist with emergent interventions
  • Maintain precise documentation in the EMR
  • Educate patients and families on treatments, recovery expectations, and cardiac care

Requirements of the CVICU RN:
  • Active Massachusetts RN license (or ability to obtain)
  • BLS, CPR and ACLS required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or high-acuity ICU experience
  • Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, critical thinking, and rapid response
  • Experience with advanced cardiac devices strongly preferred
