Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
Provide intensive care nursing for an adult to geriatric cardiovascular patient population in a 10-bed CV ICU setting with a typical 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Manage and monitor patients with LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
Monitor post-procedural patients following AAA repairs, including enforcing flat positioning protocols and conducting close hemodynamic observation
Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and maintain effective communication with intensivists and the broader care team using SBAR methodology
Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state (required at time of submission)
Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or cardiovascular intensive care nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
Ability to work every other weekend and required major holidays per assignment schedule
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for patients with LVADs, balloon pumps, or CRRT in a high-acuity cardiovascular setting
Familiarity with post-vascular surgical care, including AAA repair recovery protocols
Strong interdisciplinary communication skills in a fast-paced ICU environment
