Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, demonstrating competence in care of patients with complex problems including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, synthesize data from complex situations to determine care priorities, and anticipate discharge needs for individual patients and families
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required and utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
• Participate in patient and family education by assessing readiness to learn and using population-appropriate education materials
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment while participating in unit goals and performance improvement activities

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience in a cardiothoracic or cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) setting
