Provide direct critical care nursing to pediatric congenital cardiac patients in a 10-bed Cardiac ICU setting with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
Manage post-operative care including inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF management, chest tube management, and care of post-sternotomy and open chest patients
Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Philips monitors, Med Fusion and Baxter pumps, centrimag, Prismax, and Arctic Sun devices
Administer and monitor moderate sedation per unit protocols
Collaborate with board-certified pediatric and congenital heart intensivists and an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient and family-centered care
Document accurately using Meditech EMR; adhere to weekend scheduling requirements of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
Experience working in a pediatric or neonatal cardiac intensive care environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
Peritoneal dialysis and/or CRRT skills
ECMO bedside experience
Flexible, organized, and strong communicator with a willingness to resource and teach
