Registered Nurse – CVICU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to CVICU patients including post-cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, combined CABG/valve procedures)
- Manage care for CAD patients presenting with STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
- Care for vascular surgery patients including peripheral bypasses and EVAR
- Support thoracic surgery patients including those undergoing VATS procedures
- Rotate every other weekend and cover holidays as scheduled
- Float within specialty, sister units, and lower-acuity areas as needed
Required Qualifications- Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU and/or open heart experience
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience in a CVICU or cardiovascular surgical setting
- Comfort with floating across units of varying acuity levels with no scheduling restrictions
- Experience with high-acuity cardiac and vascular patient populations
