Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting, including post-operative cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve, and combined CABG/valve procedures)
Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
Care for vascular surgery patients including peripheral bypasses and EVAR, as well as thoracic surgery patients (VATS)
Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and required holiday coverage as scheduled
Float within specialty, to sister units, and to lower acuity areas as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
Minimum of 2 or more years of CVICU and/or open heart experience
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
Ability to float within scope with no restrictions
Compliance with onboarding requirements, including lab completion within 72 hours of contract signing and submission of all compliance documents at least 5 days prior to start date
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with open heart surgery patient populations and high-acuity cardiovascular care
CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
Familiarity with travel nursing compliance processes and onboarding requirements
