Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:30)
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting, including post-cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve, and combined procedures)
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
- Care for vascular surgery patients including peripheral bypasses and EVAR, as well as thoracic surgery patients (VATS)
- Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled
- Float within specialty, sister units, and lower-acuity areas as needed
Required Qualifications- Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of CVICU and/or open heart experience required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
- Ability to float within scope with no restrictions; travelers are first to float
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with high-acuity cardiac and vascular surgical patient populations
- Familiarity with travel nursing compliance requirements and onboarding processes
- Comfort working in a fast-paced ICU environment with rotating schedules including weekends and holidays
