Registered Nurse – CVICU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend rotation and some holidays required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including telemetry and identification of lethal arrhythmias
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for critically ill cardiovascular patients
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient census requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years, specifically in CVICU or equivalent specialty
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components) with a passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam; no more than one incorrect answer permitted on 3rd degree heart block questions
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Ability to work every other weekend rotation and select holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
- Familiarity with advanced cardiovascular monitoring and critical care protocols
