Registered Nurse – CVICU

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular ICU setting with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage a complex patient mix including fresh post-operative open heart patients, ventilated patients, patients with chest tubes and lumbar drains, and patients with chronic or acute renal failure
- Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic and support devices including Impella, IABP, Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, arterial lines, temporary pacers, and CRRT using Prismax
- Provide post-operative open heart recovery care for procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
- Float as required to all ICUs, PACU, ED (for ICU holding patients), and IMC units, with patient ratios adjusted based on acuity
- Work every other weekend and holiday as applicable, adhering to the agreed-upon schedule
Required Qualifications- Active New Jersey RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience with CVICU training may be considered
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
- Demonstrated experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, or direct experience with fresh open heart cases
- Proficiency with post-op open heart recovery, Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
- No open or active background or license hits accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with a broad range of cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Experience floating across multiple ICU and IMC environments
