Provide direct nursing care to complex cardiac surgery patients including post-op open heart recovery, CABG, valve repair/replacement, and TAVR cases
Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, continuous IV paralytics, neuromuscular blockade, and sedation
Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic and mechanical support devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
Perform and manage ventilator care, chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, and suctioning
Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKGs, FloTrac/Vigileo, and temporary pacers
Float within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units as needed
Required Qualifications
Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission
Required certifications at time of submission: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience; SICU experience may be considered if initial training was completed in a CVICU
Must have hands-on experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
Must have experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
EPIC charting experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun and lumbar drains
Background in managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Familiarity with CVVHD/CRRT and acute renal failure management
Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
