Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU

Location

Omaha, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (06:30–18:30) and Nights (18:30–06:30) available | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays every other or as needed per unit needs

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed Cardiovascular ICU with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Care for post-operative open heart, complex thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, including those supported by Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO
  • Titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic drips as ordered
  • Independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips without the support of monitor technicians
  • Manage and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices
  • Float to all inpatient units as needed, excluding Maternity and NICU
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure in good standing
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with CVICU or equivalent cardiovascular/critical care patient population
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Ability to titrate drips and manage hemodynamically complex patients
  • Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitoring strips
  • Must comply with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with advanced cardiac support devices including Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO
  • Familiarity with post-operative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients including EVARs, carotids, and lytic cases
  • Experience supporting patients from cath lab, structural heart, EP lab, or emergency settings
