Travel RN – CVICU (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct primary nursing care for fresh cardiac surgery patients in a CVICU setting, including immediate post-surgical recovery
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients and 1:2 for POD 1–3 patients
  • Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic equipment including balloon pump, Impella, and hemosphere or acumen monitoring systems
  • Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic health records system
  • Participate in a newly launched cardiac surgery program, contributing to unit growth and patient outcomes
  • Adhere to floating policy, maintaining the same patient ratio as the unit floated to when applicable
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients and direct primary recovery in a CVICU environment
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Proficiency with balloon pump management
  • Ability to commit to 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks per scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with Impella device management
  • Familiarity with hemosphere or acumen hemodynamic monitoring systems
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or critical care setting
