Travel RN – Cardiac Medical ICU (Nights)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups in a Cardiac Medical ICU setting
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability for the provision of direct patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
- Operate and manage advanced equipment including Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, and Arctic Sun
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
- May be floated to stepdown units based on staffing needs
Required Qualifications- Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Medical ICU experience (inpatient only)
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIHSS certification required
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1
- Must be available for a full week of day-shift orientation prior to beginning night shift
Preferred Experience / Skills- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience with medical ICU patients with cardiac emphasis including arrhythmias, STEMI, and post-cardiac arrest care
- CVI experience recovering open-heart patients directly from the OR
- Familiarity with a diverse patient population including sepsis, ARDS, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, and overdose
