This position offers the chance to make a real impact in the operating room while working alongside skilled professionals. **Position Details:** - **Role:** Registered Nurse (RN) - **Specialty:** Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) - **Number of Openings:** 2 - **Shift:** Days, Monday to Friday, 0600-1430 - **Weekly Guaranteed Hours:** 36 - **Assignment Length:** 13 weeks - **Call Requirements:** Weekly and weekends, varies per staffing **Unit Information:** - **Number of Beds:** 2 OR suites dedicated to cardiothoracic within the main OR complex - **Patient Ratios:** 1 patient per case - **Equipment Used:** Stryker cameras, Zoll defibrillators, etc. - **EMR:** EPIC **What You Bring:** - **Must Have Skills/Experience:** 1 year of CVOR experience - **Preferred Skillset/Experience:** 2 years or more in CVOR - **Type of Patients on Unit:** CABG, Surgical valves, thoracic surgery, cardiogenic shock - **Personality Fit:** Strong teamwork, flexibility, and reliability are essential **Dress Code:** - **Scrub Color:** Facility provided - **Unacceptable Attire:** Anything outside of provided scrubs **Key Responsibilities:** - Utilize the nursing process in perioperative practice - Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop nursing care plans - Collaborate with surgeons and other RNs to ensure the best patient care - Apply principles of asepsis and infection control - Monitor hemostasis and manage wound care effectively **Facility Overview:** Experience compassionate medical and specialty care at Mercy Hospital South, a Level 2 Trauma Center offering all-private rooms and advanced certifications in heart failure.
