Description:
The position is for a CVOR Registered Nurse.
This role involves working four 10-hour shifts from 06:00 to 16:30, plus on-call requirements.
There is a weekend requirement of being on call every other weekend from Saturday 06:00 to Monday 06:00.
On-call requirements typically include three days per week.
The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Certifications in ACLS and BLS are required, while CNOR and AORN are preferred.
Local candidates will not be accepted; the candidate must live at least 50 miles away.
Common procedures include CABG, valves, ECMO, and various thoracic and vascular surgeries.
The OR team consists of four RNs, supporting two cardiothoracic surgeons.
The facility has three dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms and provides support for a hybrid OR.
The environment is a short-term acute care setting with Magnet designation and teaching responsibilities.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy among others.
The position requires administration of blood products, scrubbing for various cardiac procedures, and infection control.
Candidates must have experience with the Cerner charting system.
Behavioral conduct is emphasized; any unprofessional behavior may lead to immediate contract termination.
