Description:
Join a dynamic surgical services team in a fast-paced environment.
The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation.
It features a 794-bed capacity and includes specialized surgical rooms.
The surgical unit comprises 28 beds, including two hybrid rooms for cardiovascular and vascular procedures.
The average census is 60-75 cases per day.
Patient types include outpatient and inpatient trauma cases such as GSWs, stabbings, and transplants.
Common diagnoses involve general surgeries, gynecological procedures, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedic, neuro surgeries, and open-heart procedures.
The hybrid room handles 5-10 cases daily, featuring procedures like TAVR and AAA.
Experience with adult patients is required, with limited pediatric cases.
Team members participate in cases that are part of community outreach initiatives.
Candidates must possess critical care experience and be capable of both scrubbing and circulating in the operating room.
All candidates should confirm experience and competencies during the interview process.
Charge nurses do not hold patient assignments during weekdays but assist on weekends and evenings.
Other support includes resource nurses, educators, and service line representatives.
The electronic medical record system is EPIC, and familiarity with that system is expected.
Weekend rotations are part of the scheduling, with shifts spread across different times.
On-call duties are required, with a 30-minute response time necessary.
A sleeping room is available for on-call team members.
Scrub colors will be provided.
