Key Responsibilities
Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively.
Required Qualifications
Active RN License in the state of employment or a valid compact license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required – American Heart Association (AHA).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required – American Heart Association (AHA).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in CVOR or a related cardiovascular nursing specialty.
Ability to take call during the week and on weekends as required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiovascular or surgical setting is a plus.
