Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Operating Room in Colorado Springs, CO

Contract | Days | 0630–1700 (shift negotiable) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a cardiovascular operating room environment handling approximately 30 cases per day, including 1–2 open heart cases daily
• Assist with common procedures including open heart surgery, TAVR, open/endovascular, and thoracic cases
• Scrub in as needed to hold the heart and assist with chest closure
• Participate in weekday call coverage (one weekday per week) and weekend call rotation (one weekend per month – Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Float to General OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled, and within the broader zone as needed on an as-needed basis
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• Open heart experience and/or endovascular experience required
• Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation
• Valid driver's license must be submitted
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with TAVR and/or thoracic surgical cases
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Availability for holiday call coverage is preferred though not required
