Registered Nurse – CVOR (Cardiac/Thoracic)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Shift times: 6:40–19:10 or 9:40–22:10 (biweekly rotation) | Weekday and Weekend Call Required | 17–21 Week Assignments
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a cardiac/thoracic operating room environment
- Assist with complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve repairs, LVAD implantation, ECMO, and thoracic surgeries
- Support robotic-assisted surgical procedures including those utilizing the Da Vinci Xi system
- Participate in lobectomy, VATS, and lung resection cases as needed
- Float to other units as required based on staffing and patient care needs
- Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotation
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the CVOR specialty
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Must pass a telemetry/cardiac rhythm interpretation exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Strong proficiency in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including ascending aortic repairs, mitral valve surgery, and ECMO
- Experience with robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (Da Vinci Xi) and VATS procedures
- Familiarity with LVAD implantation and management in the surgical setting
