Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiothoracic surgical patients across all age groups
Perform scrub and/or circulating duties during open heart and thoracic procedures in a fast-paced cardiovascular OR environment
Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
Maintain professional accountability for patient care, patient rights, and confidentiality of patient information
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate care in conjunction with other departments
Perform duties consistent with established nursing practice guidelines, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and applicable mission and values standards
Required Qualifications
Current RN license; must be eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience
Demonstrated experience with open heart and thoracic procedures
BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications; clinical expertise in area of responsibility required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with ECMO and/or Impella insertion
Robotic surgical assistance experience
Familiarity with Epic Optime EMR
