Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care (preop, intraop, and post-op) for cardiovascular and vascular surgical cases including CABG, valve procedures, TAVRs, carotid, fem-pop, and other vascular bypass surgeries
• Support cases in the hybrid room and cath lab for procedures such as TCAR, EVAR, and TVAR alongside the vascular surgical team
• Conduct ongoing patient assessment, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain sterile field integrity, anticipate scrub nurse needs, operate surgical equipment, and keep accurate procedural records
• Participate in on-call rotation, averaging 10–15 call shifts per 6-week period, with a 30-minute response time requirement; sleeping arrangements provided on-site when needed
• Float to the main OR when cardiovascular or vascular cases are not scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice or valid compact license
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac experience with at least 1–2 years of general OR experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to start (study guide available)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with vascular surgical cases given high vascular volume on the unit
• CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification
• Familiarity with AORN standards, sterile field protocols, and aseptic technique
