Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Days | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM (start time may vary based on case schedule) | On-Call Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide perioperative nursing care including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative assessment and interventions for cardiac and general surgical patients
- Circulate in the CVOR for cardiac procedures including CABG, TAVRs, VATs, and general surgery cases, with an average daily caseload of 2–6 cases
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary surgical team to maintain a safe, sterile environment and anticipate the needs of the scrub nurse and surgical team
- Participate in an on-call rotation covering approximately 10–12 call shifts per 6-week schedule, including 1–2 weekends and 1–2 days per week, with a 30-minute call turnaround requirement
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with applicable state practice standards and facility policies
- Conduct ongoing patient assessment, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care, and coordinate care across the surgical team and hospital departments
Required Qualifications- Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio or valid compact license
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiac experience, with at least 1–2 years of general surgical experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available upon request)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification preferred
- Familiarity with TAVR hybrid room procedures and AORN standards and best practices preferred
