Job Title: Charge Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights 7 PM - 7 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN license in the State of Maine or Compact Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: 2 year College (Associates Degree) Description: The Charge Nurse role assists in achieving organizational and department-specific goals and objectives. This position operates in a supportive manner as a Charge Nurse, quality management coordinator, and resource for the unit. The Charge Nurse coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given duty period. This role includes full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident/patient care. Participation in patient/resident and family teaching is essential. Leadership is demonstrated by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other resident/patient team members according to established policies, procedures, and standards. The RN is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing or their designee. The RN is responsible for maintaining resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.
