Job Title: Nursing Administration Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year in a cardiovascular ICU. License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred Must-Have: Competency in invasive line monitoring, cardiac medications, ventilator management, and telemetry monitoring. Description: This position is for a critical care unit specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke center and Magnet designation. The unit has a total of 30 beds. Average patient census varies; staff-to-patient ratios are RN 1:1 or 1:2 for regular ICU status and 1:3 for mixed status. Patient types include immediate post-operative care for cardiac procedures like CABG, TAVR, valve repairs, heart transplants, and various thoracic and vascular surgeries. Technical skills required include the management of invasive lines, pacemakers, chest tubes, and interpretation of cardiac rhythms. Experience with ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD is preferred. Support is provided by charge nurses, intensivists, and respiratory therapists available 24/7. Unit-specific technology includes an electronic medical record system and various IV pumps and monitors. Staff may float to other intensive care units as necessary. Weekend rotation is required every third week, with holiday expectations of 1-2 per contract. A schedule cycle is established every 6 weeks, with advance notice provided. All staff must adhere to a fatigue policy, limiting hours worked to ensure safety and well-being. Professional scrub colors are required, with no graphics or logos.
