Job Summary:
This clinic position in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, involves providing patient care within a busy cardiology outpatient setting. The role requires adapting from acute care environments to outpatient clinic processes, supporting a team of cardiologists and Nurse Practitioners. The focus is on delivering efficient, quality care to adult patients with diverse cardiac diagnoses in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Location: On-site in Sheboygan, WI, at a medical office building adjacent to a hospital, with multiple specialty clinics within the same facility.
- Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, with a rotating half day off each week. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications, at least 3 years of experience in clinic, ICU, CVICU, Cath Lab, or Cardiac Stepdown settings. Candidates must be comfortable with adult patient populations, including those with CHF, chest pain, post-cath or post-surgical states; clinic experience preferred.
- Responsibilities: Authorization of procedures, entering orders, patient education, managing in-basket messages, calling patients with abnormal labs, phone triage, and possibly placing Holter or event monitors after training. Support with patient rooming and EKGs may be coordinated with medical assistants.
- Support and Equipment: Support staff includes medical assistants, licensed practical nurses, patient service representatives, and nursing leadership. Equipment includes EMR systems (EPIC preferred), IV pumps (Alaris), monitors (Zio & Bardy), EKG machines, and other unit-specific tools.
- Orientation: Up to two weeks of orientation based on skillset and comfort level.
