Shift Information: Monday – Friday, 0800-1700 with rotating half day off each week

About Facility:
On site with Aurora Sheboygan Hospital. Multiple specialty clinics within this building. This is specifically for the cardiology clinic

Unit Information:

  • Rooms: 11 Minimum Years of Experience required: 3 years. Will accept clinic experience, ICU/CVICU, Cath Lab, or Cardiac Stepdown
  • Census: Average patients/day: 24-60
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, as long as they re able to adapt from acute to clinic.​

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

  • Very fast-paced clinic – see patients every 15 minutes
  • All adults
  • CHF, chest pain, pre/post Cath Lab, post-CABG, post-valve replacements, pulmonary hypertension, peripheral artery disease, EP patients, some stress tests

Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, ACLS

Skills required:

  • Comfortable with above patient types
  • Authorization of procedures, entering orders, patient education, in-basket management, calling patients with abnormal labs, phone triage of patients,
  • Rarely could give IV dobutamine for stress test
  • Could help with rooming patients and obtaining EKGs, but MA does majority
  • Will place Holter/event monitors, but can get education on this if no experience

Support within the Department:

  • MA/LPN
  • Patient Service Reps
  • Lead Nurse
  • Manager/Supervisor
  • 5 Cardiologists, 1 EP MD, 4 NP/PA

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC - preferred
  • IV Pump: Alaris
  • Monitors: Zio & Bardy
  • Unit specific equipment: EKG machines  

Floating: If yes, where: No  

Orientation (facility and unit) :
Up to two weeks of orientation, based on skillset and comfort level

  • Holiday Expectations: None
  • Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 5 days
