Travel Nurse RN - Correctional - $1,872 per week in Leavittsburg, OH

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 13 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS/CPR certification required Must-Have: - Ability to adapt to changing work schedules based on facility needs - Flexibility for 6:10 AM to 7:30 PM shifts Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients in a correctional facility. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatments. Monitors patients under restraint on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention in emergencies. Arranges transportation to emergency care when necessary. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains or orients new employees. Responsible for health care of a designated number of patients, including making rounds and evaluating care needs. Administers medication, including narcotics, and renders direct nursing care as needed. Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, and phlebotomy duties. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams and directs healthcare staff assigned to the area. Acts as a lead worker in charge of shifts when required. Completes clerical tasks such as documenting medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information. Maintains compliance with facility protocols regarding personal items and food/drink regulations. Ensures that all necessary documentation and reporting requirements are met. This position may include significant walking and climbing stairs as part of the role. No cell phones or personal items are allowed within the facility. Food must be in clear, see-through containers, with limits on the amount of water permitted.
