Duration: 01 month to long term
Shift: 06:00 AM – 02:30 PM and 02:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and carry out physician orders for medications and treatments (PO, injection, via gastric tube, and external).
- Order/reorder medication and treatment items as needed.
- Complete count of inventory of controlled drugs at change of shift.
- Assist in physical examination of clients, obtain vital signs and specimens, educate clients/staff on medications and other health/care matters as needed.
- Administer first aid.
- Manage/assist with set-up and use of equipment including but not limited to: enteral feedings, respiratory treatments, oxygen, suctioning, Foley catheters, colostomies, abdominal binders, and braces.
- Complete all required documentation, including charting, maintaining accurate medical records. May participate in other routine duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Provide nurse care to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a residential facility, including but not limited to medications, treatments, and all required documentation.
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience:
- At least 1 year working as a licensed professional or registered nurse, administering medications and treatments as well as attending to other nurse duties for client health and well-being
- Knowledge/experience with the physical, mental, and emotional needs of individuals with intellectually/developmental disabilities, psychiatric issues, and/or geriatric care.
- Experience with respiratory equipment and enteral feeding a plus.
