Job Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to individuals with mental illness, physical injuries, developmental disabilities, and behavioral health conditions.
  • Perform duties as a Charge Nurse, Staff Nurse, or Assessment Coordinator based on assignment.
  • Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and monitor treatment progress.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, injections, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Perform patient assessments, wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and documentation.
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families.
  • Supervise and guide nursing assistants and other direct care staff when functioning as a Charge Nurse.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform CPR, first aid, and other life-saving interventions as needed.
  • Follow infection control protocols, nursing standards, and facility policies at all times.
  • Exercise independent clinical judgment while delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
Required Clinical Skills
  • Medication administration (oral, IM, IV, subcutaneous, topical).
  • IV therapy, venipuncture, catheter insertion/care, and wound care.
  • Respiratory care, oxygen administration, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
  • Vital signs, full body assessments, neurological assessments, and care planning.
  • EKG, glucometer use, specimen collection, enteral feeding, and sterile technique.
  • CPR, AED, emergency response, and infection control practices.
