Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float RN position is available in a healthcare organization located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This role involves providing total patient care in a 12-bed ICU environment, with floating assignments to Emergency Room and Medical-Surgical departments. The selected candidate will work primarily night shifts, supporting clinical operations and ensuring high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 2+ years ICU experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), ER & Medical Surgical experience preferred, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred, experience with vents, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene preferred, valid fingerprints for all New Mexico travelers are required, must be registered with the state of New Mexico.
- Additional Information: The ICU unit has 12 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2-3. The scope of the role includes management of ventilators, titratable drips, and comprehensive patient care. Floating to ER and Med Surg departments may be required, with some instances overridden by management based on experience. Nurses may assist with patient transport, medication administration, starting IVs, and other routine nursing tasks. No call responsibility.
- Special Notes: Scrub color is flexible; EMR system is MedHost. Holidays are required. The start date is 09/07/2026, and this is a vacant position created to fill staffing needs.
