Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Portland, Maine. This position requires availability for night shifts in a float pool environment, where the candidate must be willing to float across multiple ICU units, including Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Surgical and Trauma Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU), and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU). A minimum of three years of ICU experience is preferred to ensure the ability to adapt to various patient care needs and unit requirements.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, with schedules including 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: 3 years of ICU experience, current licensure as an RN, and willing to float across multiple ICU units.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, or CICU.
• Float: Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CTICU based on HCP experience; floating to any IMC with patient ratios of 1:2, up to 1:3 in IMC.
• Position Details: The RN will care for ICU patients including sedated, intubated, and pressor-managed patients. High-complexity patients such as those requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) are not part of the units typical patient care.
• Personality Fit: Candidate must be focused on outstanding patient care, team communication, and exhibit flexibility and adaptability to multiple unit assignments within the float pool environment.
• Dress Code: Scrubs; open toed shoes (no Crocs), jeans, or clothing with large logos/print are not permitted. No profanity.
• Other Information: This is a new/expanded service line, aiming to increase ICU float pool coverage. The position is scheduled to start on 10/19/2026 and end on 01/18/2027.
