Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float Nurse position available in the critical care float pool at a healthcare organization. This role involves working during night shifts and floating to various units within the hospital, including emergency department, intensive care unit, and intermediate care unit. The position requires flexibility to handle a high patient volume and a variety of clinical scenarios.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license; at least 2 years of ICU experience; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); valid RTO (return to work) must be included at the time of submission; NURSYS report; licenses verification with all active RN licenses; experience in a hospital ICU setting; travel experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to float across multiple units including Emergency Department, ICU, and Intermediate Care Unit; experience with specialty equipment such as intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventriculostomy, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and targeted temperature management (TTM).
• Additional Information: The position is a float role in the critical care unit with responsibilities including caring for patients with diagnoses such as strokes, sepsis, altered mental status, neuro interventions, respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, post-stemi, cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, trauma, and post-operative care. Scrub color is navy blue. The unit has 42 beds and flexibility for floating to various hospital units is required.
