CVICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent cardiac intensive care or CVICU nursing experience
• Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Demonstrated experience managing ventilated patients and vasoactive medication infusions
• Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills
• Ability and willingness to float to Medical ICU and Progressive Care Unit assignments as needed
• Open-heart, balloon pump, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) experience preferred

CVICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and postoperative patients
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, respiratory function, and other changes in patient condition
• Manage mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, and other advanced critical-care therapies
• Care for patients recovering from procedures and conditions including CABG, STEMI, and vascular surgery
• Recognize clinical deterioration and initiate timely interventions in collaboration with the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely while evaluating patient responses
• Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, patients, and families
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and follow unit and facility standards
• Float to designated critical-care and progressive-care areas when required
