Job Details:
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
• 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Travel experience required
• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Scrub color: Green scrubs required
• Care for post-sternotomy patients including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair, aortic dissection, carotid endarterectomy, lobectomy, mediastinoscopy, and cardiothoracic procedures
• Care for vascular patients with extensive co-morbidities and complications
• Manage and operate devices including CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Centrimag, VAD, and PA catheters
• Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, epicardial pacing wire care and management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and ventricular assist device management
• Float to other units and campuses may be required based on census needs
• Patients served are adults only
• Self-scheduling unit
Facility:
This facility operates a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit with 12 beds and an average daily census of 10 patients. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services. The facility is equipped to handle complex cardiothoracic and vascular cases, utilizing advanced cardiac support devices and technologies to deliver high-acuity patient care.
